Sacred Transitions: Making Space for the New Season
By: Rachel Tice, CEO, LMT, 200RYT
As summer starts to wind down, a quiet shift begins. The light feels different, the air starts to change, and many of us feel it — a tug inward. Whether you're heading into back-to-school season, organizing your home, or just trying to find your footing again, this time of year calls us to pause and realign.
In holistic wellness, we honor the changing seasons as more than just weather shifts. They’re invitations to reset, reflect, and release. This is a beautiful time to ask:
What have I been holding on to this summer?
What do I need to let go of before the next season begins?
What is no longer serving me — in my body, my thoughts, or my schedule?
Taking a few moments to journal or sit quietly with these questions can bring clarity and peace. You might be surprised what comes up when you give yourself space to listen.
We hold tension and emotion not just in the mind, but in the body too. Sometimes we don’t even realize how heavy things feel until we release them. Here are some ways to support that process:
Smudge your space with sage, palo santo or a white fire limpia to clear out old energy. You can find these tools in my office if you’re unsure what to use.
Diffuse oils like lavender, frankincense, or citrus to uplift your space and help you breathe deeper.
Gentle movement like yoga or stretching opens up areas where emotion hides — especially the hips, jaw, and heart.
Just like we shift our wardrobe as the seasons change, our bodies also need different kinds of support. Consider:
Yoga, Breathwork, Massage or CranioSacral Therapy to help regulate your nervous system and move stuck energy
Dry brushing or Lymphatic Massage to gently wake up circulation
Hydration and grounding foods like root vegetables, soups, or teas to help the body feel safe and supported
These are small acts of care, but they ripple deeply. Think of this season as an opportunity to plant a seed. That might be a new habit, a mindset, or simply a promise to take better care of yourself. Try this:
Clean one corner of your home and make it your quiet place — add a candle, a plant, or something meaningful
Set a small intention each day: “I choose peace today,” or “I listen to my body.”
Ask for support — whether that’s booking a massage, joining a yoga class, or simply talking to someone who holds space for you
This season doesn’t need to be overwhelming. You don’t have to rush into fall at full speed. Instead, give yourself permission to move gently, breathe deeply, and make space for what’s next.
You're allowed to rest.
You're allowed to release.
You're allowed to begin again.
If you’re looking for support, our team is here to walk with you through this seasonal shift. We offer wellness services, movement classes, and workshops designed to help you reconnect with your body and mind—at your own pace.
